The OC Way: Part 3

Yeah. SURPRISE! A day early, I didn't expect this from myself. Honest.

Today, you will meet the loveliest Draco in the history of List-of-Fanfic-Dracos (not that such a thing exists). What I learned from this story: Never give up hope. And that if don't, everything just might work itself out. In a nice way. This story is AU and has Draco/Luna as a couple with multiple OCs, which alone makes me so excited !

Be Careful by whydoyouneedtoknow

Summery: Starts after Chapter 1 of Deathly Hallows. AU, short chapters. Draco Malfoy, trapped in a life he never chose, wishes as he falls asleep that he were somewhere he could start over. Maybe he should have listed to his proverbs. Rated T, 313,804 words.

And a couple of one-shots companion to BCverse.

You'll Bawl

After The End

Now, you guys go and enjoy yourselves!

The OC Way: Part 2

So...yeah. I suck.

And I'm sorry. I hope that homework is a legit excuse. Sometimes I feel like I'm drowning in it. Or sometimes, I feel like the man Kali is standing on; but, instead of Kali, it's my Maths teacher with mathematical symbols instead of tools in hand. *shudder*

So, I have NEWS! Good one, that too. I have holidays till December 1, and I'll be posting here every other day (I've been reading a lot of fanfiction :D).

Now, for today. How to tame a Marauder by melian225. It is probably the best Sirius/OC ever! It's because of two things:
1- The characters are so realistic, that you want yourself to be in the story in place of the lead female.
2- It's fitting canon in the end. Somewhere, it makes me sad, but I don't want the original story to change either. And that doesn't mean that don't like AU. They're awesome too.

Summery: Sirius was laughing. "Have you always been this funny?" he asked, an odd expression on his face. I shrugged. "Well, you know what they say. You have to watch the quiet ones." He muttered somethin under his breath that sounded like "Clearly." Rated M, 309,893 words.

After I finished this story, I wanted more. More of the couple the author had created, dispite the fact that it was fitting canon. And guess what? I was roaming around at HPFF (since I don't go there often), and found that the same story had been posted there with some extra one-shots and an alternate ending!

The OC Way.

When I first heard about an OC, I was very excited. I wanted to read a story which involved one. It seemed so interesting; having someone in the story who wasn't there before and changing the story and making it Alternate Universe.

But, over the months, I have seen that many authors have abused the idea and have written some stories which are not interesting. I mean (no offence), some of the stories don't even have proper grammar or spellings; it is really annoying. The reading is abandoned  immediately (I review first, though). I have had encounters with many Mary Sues. Ah, beautiful, beautiful Mary Sues. So believe me when I say, 'When I recommend a Harry Potter fanfiction which involves an OC, I recommend the best ones internet has to offer.'

Over the coming weeks, I'll be posting OC fantictions (which can be in series) but before I post the first one, I would like to bring your attention to this:

A Mary-Sue Alphabet by Irony-chan.
Summery: A's for Amanda Our hero's twin sister Go lost as a baby and Gosh, how he missed her... Rated T, 1,429 words.

It's really funny.

Now, of course, I bring you The Moon Curses series by Grace has Victory. (Part I: Moons of Deceit ; Part II: Crown of the North ; Part III: The Werewolf's Bride ; Part IV: The Banebrewer)

Summery: Beginning just after the first fall of Voldemort, this follows the life of Remus Lupin and Ariadne MacDougal as they battle love, lycanthropy, abuse of human rights and living in the most prejudiced of societies. Four part series, over 330,000 words.

The loveliest part of the story is that it is entirely fitting cannon, which is sometimes a contributing factor in a good OC fic. Of course, I love AUs, but there is just something about them. It tells us the past in a different way, and the story we've read originally remains the same.  This story has suspense and twists and is full of surprises. The dialogues, especially, are extremely realistic.

The author has also written an article at HP-Lexicon (Secrets of the Classlist), which I found enjoyable too.

Now that all of the above is over, I want to ask a question. And I am going to: Are you on Pottermore? I am ! You can add me there (OwlCloak53).

The Aftermath

(not to be confused with another '19 years later')

I just came across these quite recently; they are pretty cool.  Some deal with the aftermath, just after the war, in the real (magical) world. The other are after-death fics. There are not many of them (fanfictions) out there which capture the whole emotion of the situation, in my head. Very rarely, a handful do.

1. Seven Photographs by Casira.
Summery- Glimpses of our heroes at the end of the battle and beyond, as they face what's lost and what's to come. Rated PG.

2. Aftermath Before the Funeral by Bad Mum.
Summery- At The Burrow before Fred's funeral, the family are trying to cope. And failing...Each chapter deals with a different character. Rated T, 9,606 words.

3. Death and King's Cross by sciathan file.
Summery- Who was to know Death had etiquette enough to be personalized? Rated T, 10,347 words.
This is probably the best after-life fanfiction EVER. Take my word for it.

4. Elevator by Groundswell.
Summery- The Marauders' meet after they've died...in an Elevator.  Rated K, 2,508 words.

5. How To: Open A Door by Tegildess.
Summery- In the aftermath of the Second War, Hogwarts' best and brightest occupy themselves with trying to sneak into the Ravenclaw common room. But what happens when a surprise question catches them off guard? Rated K, 1,262 words.
This is sort of out of the blue, in middle of all the sadness, but enjoyable nevertheless.

6. Sisters by rhhgrt.
Summery- After the war, Narcissa Malfoy contemplates the word "sister". Rated K+, 865 words.

Please, do leave some comments as to how you find my recommendations. Are they satisfactory? Good? Very good? Your call.

L/J Fest !

Hmm...I've been reading Lily/ James lately. I don't read them a lot, it kind of ruins the fun for me. You know, so many versions of what might have happened between them. 3. The Boyfriend series by Molly Raesly.
Boyfriend
Potter was going to say that he wasn't my boyfriend. I couldn't let him do that. For the love of Merlin, I could not let him do that. I had to stop him. He couldn't tell her the truth. So I did the only conceivable thing i could think of. I kissed him. Rated M, 143,906 words.

Fiancee
"I dropped my fork. Did he really just say that? Smehkaleen. Rated M, 87,930 words.

5. Confessions Of A Marauder by Celina Black
On his seventeenth birthday, James Potter receives a diary. Soon, he finds himself pouring his thoughts and experiences into it. With the help of his friends, this conceited prick goes on a mission to win over Lily. Now, if only he can deflate his head... Rated T, 23,597 words.

6. Confessions Of A Marauder With Nerves by Celina Black
I finally worked up the nerve to propose Lily, and she agreed to marry me, even though my proposal technique was far from perfect. Hard part done, right? Yeah, right. Now she wants me to meet her completely mad family. Rated T, 3,006 words.

7. Camera shy by Procrastinator-starting2moro
There is a certain saying in certain primitive cultures that a camera steals your soul. Under no circumstances does Lily Evans wants her soul stolen by James Potter. Oneshot. Rated T, 2,805 words.

A hug a day keeps James Potter at bay. Oneshot. Rated K+, 914 words.

10. Immature by walkingcensure

11. Lily Evans James Potter FanFiction: A HowTo Guide by Daisy Pennifold
In which Sirius finds a howto guide, truths are discovered, and James and Lily are unwitting pawns in the game of love. Rated K+, 11,612 words.

12. A Miracle Waiting To Happen by dress without sleeves
She is still Evans and he is still Potter. He still asks her out everyday and she still refuses. But James knows that something is changing...Lily Evans is, after all, a miracle waiting to happen. Rated K, 1,235 words.

13. Obsessive Lily Disorder by Procrastinator-stating2moro
James worships the ground Lily, er, throws him on? Includes stalking, Polyjuice potion, and James attempting many acts of suicide such as drowning his head in toilet bowls because Apple Of His Eyes Evans hates his guts. Rated T, 128,670 words.

Yeah, now this is my cue to leave. I better sleep.

Life is unfair, isn't it?

I've had a bad day. A very bad one. It includes a Maths-Exam-Gone-Bad and my storymarks on fanfiction.net just disappearing. Poof. I had added about 20 stories there that I wanted to put on here. Sigh.

So, well, I have been trying to re-track all the stories which were on that list and I came across this one. And it is absolutely HI-LA-RI-OUS ! I was double hilarious for me as I was reading while everybody in my house was asleep. And for me, when I am having a strong fit of laughter when everybody is sleeping and I try to suppress it, it's just 10 time funnier. Geddit?

Hm.. So there are the details:

Two Heads Are Better Than One by nonjon.

Summery- Either Fred and George played a prank on Harry, Harry played a prank on Fred and George, or they're all playing pranks on everybody. Although, to be honest, it really doesn't matter how it happened. 10,094 words, One Shot.

Warning- crude, immature, ADULT humor.

Rated- M (Mature). It means that you should not read it if you're at least 18, but I feel 15 and above works just fine.

I'll leave it to you, then. Have fun reading it !

M15M Harry Potter

I found these while browsing around for something funny to read.

Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban in Fifteen Minutes

Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire in Fifteen Minutes

Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Price in Fifteen Minutes

All by Cleolinda.

I have to say that PoA is the best out of the three, but that's just me. They are parodies of the movies, not books. Only these are up so far. I did some researching and found out that Cleolinda got a book out in which she has parodies out quite a lot of movies which includes the first movie- Philosopher's Stone. I would love to read it, but I don't think the book is available in my country. *sigh*

These one-shots are the funniest piece of Harry Potter fanfiction ever written, and I am pretty sure you guys will enjoy reading them and bawl over laughing, like I did. :D I kept quoting it to my friends.

Keep in mind that they are PG-13.

Ta-Ta !

P.S. - Why did they change the name to Sorcerer's Stone? Seemed kind of stupid to me. Did they just fancy alliteration or what? Your thoughts?
